Rock history questions?

I am trying to find an answer for an online class with no luck. Wonder if anyone knows this?

Since this rockabilly star (before he was famous) seldom had the cash for new strings, he would "slide along to where he had to tie a know and push up on the string because he couldn't jump over the knot"; pushing up on the strings made him sounds different than everyone else. Who is this?

a. Elvis Presley

b. Jerry Lee Lewis

c. Carl Lee Perkins

d. Johnny Cash.

if possibly provide a source. thank you so so so much.

Rock history questions?
The Man in Black was very innovative!

Reply:that's a tough one. i think its carl perkins, he played a guitar at age 7 made by his dad with a cigarette box. i doubt its jerry lee because he plays piano
Reply:Gonna have to go with Johnny here for a couple reasons

1. Jerry Lewis played piano

2. Elviswasn't ever dog broke like Perkins or Cash, although him and mama did have to move to the poorer side of town when he was young, he worked through high school and had enough bread to buy his fancy clothes on Beale

3. Perkins didn't really get famous nor was he a rockabilly star. He wrote Blue Suede Shoes which was a big hit (even bigger for Elvis) but had a horrible accident after that which ended his career. (altough he would be my second choice, being the broke-est guy on the list)

I think, my friend, that the answer is in the question, the man without the "cash" for strings, Johnny Cash
Reply:d
Reply:I'll go for Carl Perkins. Sang and wrote quite a few Rockabilly songs.

Main reasons; As far as I know, the 'Killer'never played guitar, and both Presley and Cash bought their first guitars,so,by the process of elimination,I've finished with Carl
Reply:Carl Perkins
